It started with a parking lot in Hazel Dell.
It was a December evening, around 9pm, and a woman was locked out of her minivan. Her toddler was asleep in the back seat. She'd called three different "24-hour" locksmith hotlines. One promised an hour and never showed. The other two quoted prices over the phone, then doubled them on arrival. By the time we pulled up, she'd been standing in the cold for nearly two hours.
That night changed how we thought about this business.
