General Questions

Are you really open 24/7?
Yes. Every day of the year, including Christmas, New Year's, the Fourth of July. All of it. Our phone line is answered live, not by a robot. Late-night calls run around the clock, same as any other hour.
Where are you located?
We're based in Vancouver, WA, but we're a fully mobile service, we come to you. There's no walk-in shop. Every job happens at your vehicle, wherever it is. We dispatch from the nearest location in our coverage area so you get the fastest possible response.
Do you also do home and business locksmith work?
We specialize in automotive locksmith work, cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, RVs and fleet vehicles. We don't currently do residential rekeys or commercial door hardware. If you've called us by mistake, no problem, we'll happily refer you to a trusted Vancouver residential locksmith.
Do I need an appointment?
No, most of our work is on-demand. Just call. If you'd prefer to schedule a non-emergency visit (like adding a spare fob next Tuesday morning), that's fine too. We just slot you into the dispatch queue.
What's your service area?
All of Clark County, WA. Core zone: Vancouver, Hazel Dell, Salmon Creek, Felida, Orchards, Five Corners. Extended zone: Camas, Washougal, Battle Ground, Ridgefield, La Center, Brush Prairie. See the full coverage map →

Pricing & Payment

How much does a lockout cost?
Price depends on vehicle type, location, time of day, and how the doors are secured. We quote the exact price on the phone before we dispatch, what we quote is what you pay.
How much for a replacement key?
Highly dependent on the vehicle, an older traditional key is straightforward, while a late-model smart-proximity key with full programming takes more time and equipment. Call with your year, make and model and we'll quote it on the spot.
Is the price quoted on the phone really the final price?
Yes. We've built our reputation on this. We will never tell you one price on the phone and then raise it once we arrive. The only exception: if you tell us it's a 2010 Camry and we get there to find a 2010 Camry SE with a smart-prox system (different key entirely), we'll re-quote BEFORE we start any work. You can always say no and pay nothing.
Is there a service-call fee?
No separate service-call or "trip" fee, the price you're quoted is all-in. We don't tack on fuel surcharges, dispatch fees, or "diagnostic" fees either.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit/debit (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover), cash, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo, and Zelle. We also offer net-30 billing for established fleet accounts. We email a digital receipt right after payment.
Why is the dealership so much more expensive than you?
A few reasons: dealerships have huge overhead (real estate, service-writer commissions, marketing) and often outsource the actual locksmith work themselves, and charge a 2–3x markup on parts. We carry the same OEM-quality blanks, use dealer-grade programmers, and have lower overhead, so we can save you typically 40–60% versus the dealer for the same end result.

Timing & Dispatch

How fast can you get to me?
We'll give you a real ETA when you call, based on where you are, the time of day, and what's on the road. If we'll be running late, you'll get a text update.
How long does the actual work take once you arrive?
Most lockouts: 5–10 minutes from unlock to drive away. Key fob programming: 20–40 minutes. Full key replacement (cut + program): 30–60 minutes depending on vehicle. Ignition cylinder replacement: 60–90 minutes. We work as fast as we can without cutting corners. Quality first, speed second.
Do you charge extra at night or on weekends?
Same pricing all weekend long. No holiday markup, no "premium" pricing, you get the same quote whatever day it is.
What if I need a key made and you don't have the blank in stock?
Rare, but it happens, usually with low-volume European or older luxury vehicles. We'll source the right blank (usually next-day) and either come back to finish the job or refer you to a vetted partner if the timeline doesn't work. No charge if we can't complete the work.

Vehicles & Keys

Do you work on Teslas and other EVs?
Yes. Tesla Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X, we program key cards and key fobs for all of them. We also handle Rivian R1T/R1S, Ford Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning, Chevy Bolt, VW ID.4, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and most other modern EVs. Lucid is the one current exception (very limited locksmith support nationwide).
Can you make a key if I have NO original key at all?
Yes, this is one of our specialties. We use the vehicle's lock or a code lookup based on your VIN to generate a brand-new key from scratch. Then we program it to your vehicle on-site. You don't need to have anything to start.
I bought a cheap fob online. Can you program it?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Quality aftermarket fobs work fine and we'll program them no problem. Truly low-quality ones from generic eBay/Aliexpress listings often won't pair or will fail within months. We'll always tell you upfront if the fob you have is a good one. If we can't get it to program, we won't charge you for our time, but we will recommend a quality replacement.
What's the difference between a key, a fob, and a transponder?
Key = the physical metal piece that turns in the ignition or door.
Fob = the plastic remote with buttons (lock, unlock, panic, etc.).
Transponder = a tiny computer chip embedded in the key or fob that the car's computer must recognize, or it won't start.
Most modern "keys" combine all three: a metal blade + a remote fob + a transponder chip, all in one assembly.
Should I get a spare key made now, or wait until I need one?
Get it now. Here's why: if you still have an original key, programming a spare is significantly cheaper and faster than starting from scratch. It's a good deal cheaper and quicker for the same end result. The spare key pays for itself the first time you don't get stranded.

Insurance & Damage

Will my insurance cover this?
Sometimes. Many full-coverage auto insurance policies include "roadside assistance" that reimburses lockout services up to a fixed amount. Some warranty providers cover key replacement under "lost key" benefits. We provide a detailed itemized receipt so you can file the claim. We don't bill insurance directly, payment is made at the time of service and reimbursed by your insurer.
What if you damage my car?
Damage is extremely rare. Our entry techniques are non-destructive by design, but in the unlikely event something happens, you're fully covered for the repair. We'll handle the claim end-to-end. No deductible to you.
Do you stand behind your work?
Yes, we stand behind our workmanship. If a key we cut stops working, a fob we programmed loses sync, or an ignition we repaired starts acting up, call us and we'll make it right. Ask about our warranty terms when you book.

Safety & Trust

How do I know you're a legitimate locksmith and not a scam?
Fair question, the locksmith industry has too many scams. Three things we do that scammers don't:
  • Our trucks are clearly branded (white + red logo) and our technicians wear uniforms with company ID.
  • We're a local Vancouver, WA business, ask us about credentials any time.
  • We give you a firm price BEFORE we dispatch. Scam locksmiths quote a throwaway number over the phone and bill many times that on arrival. We don't.

Bonus: we have 247 verified Google reviews averaging 4.9★. Scam outfits don't last long enough to build a real review history.

Will you ask me for proof I own the car?
Yes, for any service that involves making a new key or accessing a locked vehicle when you're not in possession of any key, we require proof of ownership. Usually that's a driver's license + registration, or a title. This protects you (and us) from vehicle theft attempts. If you can't get to your registration, we'll work with you on alternatives (insurance card + ID, contacting your spouse, etc.).
My kid is locked in the car. What do I do?
Call 911 firstthen call us. If the child is in distress (hot weather, crying, looks lethargic), 911 will have responders dispatched immediately who may break a window if needed. If the child is calm and the weather is moderate, we treat it as top-priority dispatch, we'll be there in the absolute fastest time possible. Mention "child in vehicle" the moment you call It changes everything about how we dispatch.
My pet is locked in the car. Same answer?
Treated almost identically. If the weather is dangerous (above 75°F or below 35°F, sun beating in, etc.), call 911 in parallel, most jurisdictions in WA allow officers to break a window to rescue an animal in distress. Otherwise we treat it as priority dispatch.
